When you obtain a student driving licence you are allowed to start having driving lessons so that you may be adequately and properly prepared for the examination for Obtaining a Driving Licence. (Category Β, with a maximum authorised mass not exceeding 3500kg and up to 8 passengers). The driving examination is arranged by the driving school.

The P. Katsaris Driving School offers you complete training in order to succeed in the examination and obtain a Driving Licence.  Moreover our school provides the learner with the necessary knowledge in order not only to obtain a driving licence but also to be able to drive safely and improve their techniques and methods as far as defensive and ecological driving are concerned.

• The first stage in order to obtain a full driving licence is to hold a learner licence. In order to achieve that you must know the Highway Code.
• Fill in the application form for obtaining a student driving licence (ΤΟΜ 7Δ).
• Two recent passport style photographs 40×35
• Identification Card
• After you pay the amount of €10 at the Road Transport Department offices to issue a learner driving licence (pre-examination), there will be an oral test on traffic signs.

If you are successful in the oral test then a Learner Driving Licence will be issued (€20), which will be valid for one year.

Obtaining a learner license

• A learner license may be obtained at 17 years of age for the AM category (moped with a maximum design speed of not more than 45km/h
• For categories Β,Β1, Α1, Β+Ε, a learner must be at least 17,5 years old.
• For categories Γ1, Γ1+Ε, category Στ andΙΒ a learner must be at least 18 years old
• For categories Γ and Γ+Ε, Δ1, Δ1+Ε, and special category Η, Ζ, Θ a learner must be at least 21 years old.
• For category Δ, Δ1+Ε, a learner must be at least 24 years old.

A provisional driving license is valid for one year only and it may be renewed.

Learner Driving License Renewal

The relevant documents must be presented by the applicant in person or by a representative at the Road Transport Department offices (headquarters or district offices) or the Citizen Service Centre

The following must be submitted in order to renew a provisional driving license:

• Application form, (TOM 7Δ).
• Two recent passport style photographs 40×35
• Identity card.

Notes:

• Applicants for a full driving licence who are more than 70 years old need to submit a Health Certificate. In case the applicant for a provisional driving license renewal is a foreign resident then they need to present a residence permit.
• People who apply for a renewal of Learner Driving Licence for a category Γ, Γ+Ε, Δ, Δ+Ε, Γ1, Γ1+Ε, Δ1, Δ1+Ε vehicle and special categories Ζ, Η, Θ, are required to hold a Health Certificate, which is valid for 3 months after the date of issue. In case the applicant does not intend to present a Medical Certificate for the categories mentioned above then he/she must complete an affidavit so that the above categories may be removed from his/her driving licence.

A renewed learner driving licence is valid for one year.

Issuing a learner driving licence is governed by the Driving Licence Law of 2001 and all its amendments until today.
